  • Wow, what a difference!

    I had RENNtech upgrade the software in my 2012 Mini Clubman S, Wow, what a difference! The engine pulls very strong right from a stop. I now have to learn to drive the car again without breaking the wheels loose even when already moving, this is with a 6 speed auto, Highly recommend the computer upgrade!

  • BMW X5M RENNtech- I'm Lovin' it!

    Hey guys

    just wanted to post a quick review of my X5m and the recent mods; Renntech tune and Akrapovic catless downpipes.

    I sent out my ECU(which probably takes 10mins to remove does have three tricky clips you have to unclip) once i took it out, sent it out to Renntech and got the ECU back, the day after they received it.
    The car was completely different! Acceleration in the low range was much better, throttle response was def improved, and overall the car accelerated much quicker, in really wet conditions it def wants to break traction in 1st!

    Three days later, I recieved my Akrapovic catless downpipes; got them installed which was a pretty labor intensive job the shop said. They kept the car overnight and I got it back the next day.
    After getting into the car, i started it up and expected to hear a big difference, nothing, so as i drive away i floor it and you really hear a HUGE difference after 3.5k even with the M mode off, the car just opens up and it screams. With the M-Mode on its even louder, i couldnt imagine having exhaust, downpipes are def enough.

    The sound is amazing! At redline it does have that raspy-pop that all of our X5ms have when you shift, so that def gets louder with the DP's. But overall the car just screams power, and i love the sound.

    As far as performance just with this tune and the catless DP's the car is an animal! It flies! I mean the thing pulls, I i live in Seattle, and the car now literally breaks tractions when wet, in 1st and 2nd gear with just a twitch of the steering wheel you can lose traction if its wet lol I also own the e63 m6 v10 with a bunch of bolt on mods(headers, ecu, full exhaust, intake, pulleys) and even though the v10 does fly and has a crazy amount of power esp with the high rpms.
    I can truly say that this x5m in a way scares me the fact that its such a big vehicle but flies like this is crazy! Once u open it up,it just gets up there so fast!!

  • Impressed with "The other woman"....

    Hello Tomas,

    Thank You for getting my ECM back to me Soo quickly. I was one hell of a happy camper when I walked into my office Friday afternoon and saw a box from "Renntech" sitting on my desk!

    I had a family obligation up about an  hours drive on pretty open and also some windy/hilly roads. I shot home dropped the ECM into my machine and off I went. WOW! The best way to describe the difference is, "The Inner Beast" in her has really been awakened and she still behaves Soo well. I had my wife with me so it wasn't just me and "The other woman". However I am extremely happy with the improvements you guys made.

    Passing on a two lane road: She always had a great ability to pass quickly when crossing over thelines to get by "Grandpa Jenkins" and now when I punch it at 45 mph and blow around Grandpa-we come back into our lane at about 115mph. Before hand she was no slouch probably around 90-95mph.

    I will have much more time to play with her over the next week and I will keep you updated. Please pass my gratitude on to the rest of your team. Not only did you guys deliver what you promised, you did it with class. You run an impressive operation, everyone I spoke with was courteous, professional and very informative.

  • Holy Smokes!

    Hi George & Team,

    Just wanted to let you know the ECU arrived to my house as scheduled this morning. I installed it immediately and took the car for a drive. All I can say is, HOLY SMOKES! The car drives stock-like at partial throttle, but press the pedal to the floor and it's like an entirely different animal!

    The tires even break loose when going WOT on the freeway at speed! Needless to say, I'm very impressed, and can't thank you guys enough for your great customer service and top-notch product.

    I will let you guys know how the car performs at the Airstrip Attack event next month, hosted by Shift-Sector. I also plan the get the car re-dynoed later this week to see what kind of power it's now putting down.

    Oh, and thank you also for throwing in the BMC air filters, that was a nice touch.

    I look forward to doing more business with you in the future.

    Dear George,

    I wanted to take the time and share my satisfaction with the results f the tuning of my 2008 CL 65. Not only did you deliver on your original prediction on HP and torque, but exceeded it by 50 on HP and 100 Lb/ft on torque. I'm now at 715 HP and 965 TQ. The end result is a huge improvement from its original base line in both power and torque.

    You guys hit it out of the ball park and delivered well above your original prediction.

    Hi George,

    I have received the parts (R1 Performance Package) & tried them out- so far the results have been astounding ... With just these mods, the E63 was able to kill a G-Power supercharged M3 and almost ran level with a McLaren MP4-12C in a rolling race!

  • My thoughts and satisfaction...

    Guys,

    I wanted to take the time and write you about my thoughts and satisfaction on the RENNTech V3 Lowering module for my 2010 W212 E550 Sport sedan, equipped with AirMatic suspension. I work in an office environment in Orange County, CA and use this car as my daily driver to haul both my 2 year-old daughter and clients around, although not both at the same time.

    I purchased the E550, which is black on black, with the idea of doing mild modifications that were both sporty and street friendly. These mods would include lowering, exhaust, ECU tuning, window tint, 19" wheels and some interior accents. My previous cars were a CLK55 AMG and BMW M3 and have had my share of potholes and rough ride quality.

    When doing my research for the lowering module, I, like many others, took to the Internet. As you know, there is a lot of noise out there. I decided that if I was going to use a lowering module for my E550, I wanted to go with a reputable, Mercedes-tuner, with a quality reputation and a name for performance. This dwindled my short list to RENNtech and Brabus.

    The Brabus module was fixed, meaning it did not offer any choices of custom lowering heights. I decided to call you guys and Tomas and George were extremely helpful. They always picked up the phone and were more than generous with their time answering my questions. In this day and age of call centers and poor service, these guys were 5-star and one of the reasons I felt comfortable with the unit and decided to go with RENNTech. It's everything that it's advertised to be and I am extremely happy with the results. Easy, quick install, done by the authorized RENNTech dealer HG Motorsports in La Jolla, CA. The software was easy to download on my laptop and very user-friendly. I was able to customize my 3 settings quickly. I call them Mild, Sport and Aggressive Drop. The pictures of my car are with my mild setting, which is -.75" in front and -.70" in rear.

    Thanks again for producing a quality unit and for all the support and help. I'm going for the RENNtech ECU tune next!

  • Best Modification I Have Made!

    It took me less than 10 minutes to put the ECU back in- going very slow.

    I drove the car about 50 miles yesterday. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when I started out, just casual driving. Which was great because I was worried about warning lights or some problems.

    Then I drove it hard the rest of the trip. I don't think you guys are over estimating with the 669hp. The car is a rocket now. I had no trouble with any lights or temperatures either and it was 87 degrees out.

    This is by far the best modification I have made to any vehicle in my 20 years of doing so.

    The only problem I have is keeping the sunroof shade closed and the tires hooked.

    I got enough of a run to the motorway to heat the engine before opening it up and initial feel was fierce, I actually spun the wheels with kick down it at 90mph, that is just incredible. Now I have the car performance that I was after when I bought the 63! Keeping my eyes peeled on the motorway for anyone brave enough to have a go.. ;)

    Just installed the intercooler pump and carbon fiber air box. I was more than pleased to see a noticeable jump in power and throttle response. It has been my experience that on engines of around 500hp you are going to have to have an increase of at least 25-30hp to notice any difference. I am very happy with the results.       I just wanted to thank you and the team at RENNtech for the incredible job done on my 07 SL600. The package 3 along with the limited slip differential and the sport mufflers have taken this from a great car to a sleeping monster.  Through the TCU upgrade I now have complete control over transmission in manual as in the AMG version which was not available before. The exhaust note is so incredible, popping when decelerating beautiful when cruising and unbelievable awesome when the hammer goes down.  I couldn't be happier with the car. Even with all of the new found power I can still get 18 miles to the gallon around town.  And best of all my 14 year old son loves it. He can't wait to go for rides.

    Took 'er out on 95 the other day-and wow!  Exactly what I wanted.  When you jump on it at speed, like 70 or so and hammer it, the exhaust becomes glorious and sounds like Parnelli Jones in his ‘69 Boss Trans-am car. #15 in your program.

    Please tell Harmut it’s perfect and was just what I wanted on the highway.  Thank you guys.

  • 2008 C63 ECU Tune-out of this world!

    I have 2008 C63 which I bought May of 2008. I was one of the first few to own C63 in Canada. For the first 2 and a half years I had it stock and was quite satisfied with the power but as time went on the urge to see the true potential of this car over came me and I got the tune.

    I went through the same dilemma as you on what tune to get, but I settled with Renntech basically because their very reputable company with a quality product. That being said the Renntech tune is one of the more expensive tunes. However now that I have been driving it for a few days it was worth it. The car pulls so hard its ridiculous. C mode now with the tune feels like S mode stock and S mode tuned.......out of this world!

    I specifically asked for a 93 octane tune which renntech informed me was generally what they do with their tunes. We have 94 octane gas up here in Calgary Canada at our Husky stations so I believe it helps. Renntech claims 517hp and 485Ft/lbs from crank on their website but I think this is conservative. I hope can find a dyno and see what power Im truly putting down. Any way its worth it whatever tune you get but for me Renntech was the best choice because it gave me peace of mind that they do great job and my engine wont blow up.

    As I have told you over the years, I LOVE the work you folks have done on my "03" CL55AMG. The sound of the car and general performance make it a joy to drive. As you know I also have that rare "chamois" color which also attracts attention.

    I average at least one comment about the car per week.....often three...from fast food servers to other car afficianados.  My wife does not like to drive it because she says "It draws too much attention"..Too many "thumbs" up and comments.

    I indeed enjoyed Wednesday's PM drink and beautiful setting! The car performed well: 600 miles 9:15 hours elapsed time door to door, 8:30 hours of driving, 72+ mph average speed and best of all 19.3 mpg, 2 mpg better than before, across the board.

    The LSD makes a radical difference on big power application with a much more behaved attitude all around. I was tearing up the twisties on the back roads in the middle of the swamps last night. Once more, a great thanks to you and the team for an excellent job. Please thank Hartmut also for being gracious and personally overseeing the final details of the tuning. Above all, you are a good friend.

    I just came off a 2500 mile tour of the Southwest. The car always drew a crowd, pulled hard regardless of altitude or temperature, and provided many 'fast' car owners with a nice view of the rear of the car and the sound of your marvelous exhaust system. It definitely thunders when you call up all the horses in the barn.

    Z06 'Vette owners universally had a terrible time dealing with the reality of being blown off by a very quick, very fast MB being driven by a grandfather - yuk yuk.

    As you may remember, I have a '92 E500 with the 6.0 conversion. The reliability of that car, and the fact that after 4 years no Renntech part has given me any difficulty, have led me back to your door.

    I just ordered and install the ECM upgrade and pulley kit on my new SLK32. The whole process worked well, from the quick turn around to very good instructions with pictures that showed how to install it. The preformance improvment is very good with no noticable downsides except perhaps rapid rear tire wear ... but that can be addressed with a driver upgrade!

    Anyway, I would be happy to speak to anyone about this upgrade and am pleased to install this or other upgrades in my shop. Thanks again and the 1/4 mile improvment was from 13.01@107 to 12.72@109, despite a 30 degree higher temp.

    Thought you all might be interested, gentlemen, I am ecstatic over the quality of the work you performed on my E55 high boost supercharger upgrade. The performance thus far has exceeded my expectations greatly...

    RENNtech went above and beyond their job scope to resolve a problem I had with some aftermarket wheels and tires. The 19" wheel offsets were incorrect and Mr. Hartmut Feyhl identified and resolved the problem without having to modify the wheel wells, fender flares, or ride height. My E55 is wearing the same 245/35 ZR19 Bridgestone tires up front and 285/30 ZR19 Bridgestone tires on the rear. When initially installed, the rear tires would occasionally rub the fender on rough roads, but not anymore. I recently drove around a local road race course with three passengers and never heard a tire rub, although the tires did complain rather loudly!

    Amazingly, anyone familiar with the car before the RENNtech upgrade will agree that it does not sound any louder and you cannot tell it is supercharged. What a sleeper! Thanks again to Mr. Hartmut Feyhl, Bob Brady and all the crew at RENNtech for the service and quality they provide to Mercedes Benz owners and enthusiasts.

    I just want to say thank you for everything you have done to make my experience with Renntech the best one possible.

    I have owned many cars in the past years: '09 SL65 Mercedes, '08 Lamborghini Spyder, '06 Ferrari F430.

    I decided to buy a low mile '06 SL55 Mercedes and deliver it to Renntech to see what you guys could do. I will start by saying that this car is the fastest and most "fun" car I have ever driven. The power is neck snapping when you want it, but also a gentle cruiser when I want to take the wife to dinner.

    The new exhaust note that the car puts out is truly amazing, loud but not overbearing.

    Bob,

    When I purchased the C63 I knew it was already a special car but it did have some limitations in the "traction" department. It had a lot of power and torque but getting that to the road in slippery conditions was a challenge. I searched for a solution on the internet and most enthusiasts were saying that a limited slip differential was a must for the car.

    After some research, I got quotes from my dealer for an original AMG LSD and looked at solutions from a few of the specialized tuners to finally opt for the RennTech solution derived from an OS Gilken LSD. The people I dealt with at RennTech were very knowledgeable and quite helpful in getting me the information I needed. I ordered the LSD from RennTech and had it installed by a local shop in Montreal who specializes in transmissions and differentials. I dropped off the car in the morning and picked it up the same night.

    The modification improved the car's drivability quite a bit. I felt much better driving it in snow :-)

    With the spring came the desire to complete the process and upgrade the ECU to RennTech Stage II. It took less than 5 minutes to remove the ECU from the car. I shipped it to RennTech and got it back the next day. It took another 5 minutes to put it back and start enjoying the added power (as if the car really needed it :-) The last piece was the replacement of the original AMG wheels (which are now my snow wheels) with the RennTech 19" Signature series 3 piece wheels and larger tires. The car looks great, handles and drives much better than before. The only negative is that I must learn to resist the desire to burn the tires :-)
